Javascript use on YouNeek

Product Shelves

Parts of the site, including the front page and brand pages, use product shelves. Product shelves use Javascript to allow the user to scroll through a list of products. These shelves degrade to a simple list of products when Javascript is disabled. Users with Javascript disabled will only be able to see a few of the products contained in the product shelves.

Quicklook

When Javascript is enabled, product shelves and product listings contain a button which activates the Quicklook feature. Quicklook allows the user to add a product to the cart without going through to the product's page.

Users with Javascript disabled will not see the Quicklook button, and the Quicklook functionality will not be present.

Minicart

This site has a Minicart feature that allows the user to view the three most recent products added to their cart, and the subtotal of the cart without going through to the cart page. The Minicart also allows users to add products to their shopping cart without being sent to the Cart page. This feature is activated by clicking on the Shopping Cart link on the page header, or by clicking the Add to Cart button on any product page or the Quicklook.

The Minicart requires Javascript to function, and users with Javascript disabled will not see the Minicart, and will instead be sent directly to the Cart page when it would normally show.

Product Customization

Certain products on this site can be customized. These products are noted in product shelves and product listings with an icon, , and the product page shows a button which activates the customization editor. The customization feature requires Javascript to function, and users will not be able to customize any product with Javascript disabled.

Promotion Areas

The youneek.com by HP homepage has a promotion area which shows a slideshow of several current promotions. This area requires Javascript to rotate slides, and users with Javascript disabled will only see the first promotion.
